ELAREM™ Prime-FD PLUS is our option for researchers looking for a simple switch from traditional Feal Bovine Serum (FBS) to Human Platelet Lysate (HPL), with the added convenience of fibrinogen-depletion for off-the-shelf use in cell culture supplementation. The product supports in vitro expansion of various cell types and perfectly suits the needs of FBS users.
Due to a unique fibrinogen-depletion technique, ELAREM™ Prime-FD PLUS is a clot-free and anticoagulant-free Human Platelet Lysate. The product neither requires the addition of anticoagulants in cell culture nor during manufacturing. That makes ELAREM™ Prime-FD PLUS a ready-to-use Human Platelet Lysate that is widely applicable, since the absence of anticoagulants offers even more convenient cell growth conditions.
ELAREM™ Prime-FD PLUS is directly comparable with FBS, both in terms of price and cell performance. This enables a simple transition away from animal-based serum to animal-free media when using the product. Furthermore, the need for resource consuming batch testing is eliminated as ELAREM™ Prime-FD PLUS is produced from large batches of platelet units to ensure batch-to-batch consistency, leading to more consistent and reproducible results. ELAREM™ Prime-FD PLUS is manufactured from platelets obtained from healthy blood donors at licensed blood centres in the EU.
